Happy Holidays Knights! The next two Sunday raids both fall on the eve of a holiday, and thus the official guild raids will be canceled meaning attendance will not be taken and no DKP will be awarded. We would still like to be able to kill a few of our important targets and not waste our expedition timers so a poll is up to see how many people would be interested in raiding on the weekend anyway so give us your feedback. All loot would be randomed off for those who attend.
When Velious launched, raiding hours got a little bit longer as we got geared up and cleared the crystal scars. Since we've gotten so fast now, we'll go back to our original official raiding hours of 7:30PM to 11:00PM EST on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. We might occasionally end up just past a few minutes here and there but we'll try our best to keep the DKP and attendance during this timeframe.
So the first Sunday of Velious, the Knights continued the march west through the deep scars in the frozen tundra. It was a balmy night with the sweet smell of clarity in the air. The snow drifts quickly became a problem, freezing the toes of our little gnomes. Having so many ogres finally paid off as we pulled the raid over to loaded up our whiny gnomes, one per Ogre. With a cubby in the distance, Bowl quickly directed the force. Before we knew it, we had finally reached the last destination on our hit list. The Temple of Veeshan was to be ours. Slashing, stabbing, and channeling our way deep into the temple. Then we saw what we had came for...
and yadda yadda yadda...
Vulak`Aerr didn't even live past the first week of Velious. Welcome to farm status!
With The Scars of Velious here, you've already seen that some raid targets take considerably longer than others. The raid target DKP value page has been updated to reflect the values for our new raid targets we've already killed and also updated old targets. Old Kunark targets that will now become drastically easier have dropped based on their loot table and whether they provide an epic drop or not. Since we're now effectively using virtual tiers for DKP, the first kill bonus will be double the DKP value. Just remember that DKP applies only raids during our scheduled raid hours and led by an officer.
Rock on Knights!
Our adventure continues on the frozen island of Velious. The frozen tundra here still hasn't thawed out much since it was cursed some time ago but that didn't slow us down! We started the new expansion off the best way imaginable: slaughtering Rangers and Druids in the Plane of Growth! We really just wanted to kill some time before our raiding hours start but ♫ our milkshake brought all the stalkers to the pog...and they're like, cast illusion frog. Damn right, we see dat illusion frog. You could teach us, but we have to hog. ♫ and then BAM! It was raid time so off to Kael Drakkel.
Unforunately, the Knights of Vallon Zek regret to announce that the inagural olympics in Kael Drakkel have been canceled. We'll never know whether the Kromzek or the Kromrif would have taken home the gold because we had a altercation with their gladiators. The TL;DR edition of the story is we walked up to The Avatar of War, PUNCHED HIM IN THE THROAT, and stole his shizzat!

Now that we're at the end of Kunark, also a special shout out to our top raiders!

Congratulations to Toridan for keeping 100% raid attenance through Kunark. He received a shiny, new krono at the end of our last Kunark expansion raid night to help him remember the good times!
This Friday night will be the last night of classic raiding for the Knights of Vallon Zek! To blow out Kunark in style, we'll be drafting internal raid teams that will race through classic content. Captains will be picked at random and will each pick a member for their raid in a round robin fashion until no raider is left standing. The team that kills the most raid targets within the raiding window wins!
All members are invited, including friends and family, level 46 or higher. We'll start to gather at 7:00PM EST on Friday at the parcel agent (use find) in North Ro with time for questions and team drafts will start at 7:15PM sharp! Regardless of how far your team makes it, all participants who stay for the night will be awarded the maximum number of classic DKP, which is 12!
FRIDAY! FRIDAY! FRIDAY!
The raid leaders were chosen by /random at Wednesday night's raid and are as follows:
|Raid #||Draft Leader||Loot Officer|
Disclosures: Terms and conditions apply. If you do not wish to participate, are currently an friends and family, alternate character, or you abandon your raid crew before completion, you will not recieve any DKP. No purchase necessary. Kunark is now truly in ruins. We have learned that there are no more new birds, lizards, or dragons that we can defeat on this island. On previous nights when we had drunken rampages through Veeshan's Peak, we spared those living the life of little existance...but tonight, no sympathy was felt for a lone ranger that wouldn't open the doors for Bowl. It was a cold sequence of events, as even in his dying breath, he tried to tell us he was useful. I'm not entirely sure what he said, but I think he was trying to tell us he was a Druid...but as he was kicked in the throat, it just came out as "I'm no ranger! I am a Druuuuusssshhhk." so we'll never be sure. Rest in peace, Druushk...and sorry Kunark, but you were ruined before we got here.
So Nokkin and I got into an argument about whether this was a butterfly or not last week...so 48 knights went back to the party caves of Veeshan's Peak again tonight. After extensive research, we've decided maybe it's a bird.
A bunch of us accidently found this Key of Veeshan (most of it laying on the ground) that we weren't sure we wanted to even bother using, but we were looking for something to do after cleaning Trakanon's teeth. On a rainy Sunday evening (thanks a lot Druids), a couple groups of us wandered over to check our Ring of Scale faction. While we were just hanging out drinking essence of gnome, we ran across some pretty lizards that we accidently sqashed when we were riding the raptors around. Really sorry about that but at least check them out...
We named this one Silverwing. I'm not sure how we came up with that but he was kinda neat:
Then there was this awesome purple lizard. I thought it was a butterfly at first but she died too fast to be a butterfly. Dagdar was insistent that there weren't any pear shaped butterflies in Veeshan's Peak and got into some fight with an ogre about whether she was over here or over there...so somehow we named this lizardfly Phara Dar:
After that argument ended, we decided to go visit a super cool bard that we heard lived in the back of Veeshan's Peak! On the way, we ran into Trakanon's twin brother. He said his name was Karl but he just wouldn't shut up about some disease that was coming to end the world...so in the end, we just kept calling him Hoshkar...but he still didn't shut up so he got punched in the throat.
So finally! We made it to the home of one of my super cool Bard brothers. I was told his name was supposed to be Zogyx and that he was two gnomes tall with golden boots. There must have been some mixup because the guy that lived in the back of this cave was the total opposite. He nails were overgrown, name totally backwards, and kept telling us to shut up. I guess he had heard our previous conversation with Karl that ended badly so we might have gotten off on the wrong claw. He decided to take a nap so I stole his weapons and we decided to go find music elsewhere.
When the essence of gnome started to wear off, we were getting really thirsty and wanted to find another drink. In order to please the ladies in our party, we sat out for some blue cocktails. Long story short, found some blue colored concoction called Nexona. Sounded hallucinogenic so most of the gang didn't wait a second before giving it a whirl...and I really don't remember what happened after that. I forgot to take a picture of the blue bits we ground up for our cocktails but it was all around a great night!
