After two previous failed attempts, the remaining raiders managed to pull it together and show Phara Dar who the real sheriffs of these parts truly are! We could not have done it without every last member present, so on behalf of the Knights of Vallon Zek, we would like to thank Odul and the rest of Wraith Reborn for joining forces with us to down this mighty foe!
The epics have been flowing the second and third weeks of Kunark. Congratulations to many of our members on completing their epics:

In other news, we have also added the Keeper of Souls as an additional classic raid target worth 1 DKP.
The guild is filling up quickly, but the KoVZ is still looking for a few more recruits. If you're paladin, ranger, shadow knight, or rogue - come see us so we can turn you into a giant gnome today!
For those of you that have reached level 60, it's now time to work on your key to Veeshan's Peak! As an incentive, we will be offering DKP bonuses to the first 60 raid members that get keyed. The bonuses are as follows:
- 15 Bonus DKP for First 20 Members
- 10 Bonus DKP for Next 20 Members
- 5 Bonus DKP for the Last 20 Members
Check out the key quest walk through over on Allakhazam for a walk through. When you've completed your key, be sure to let Maxs know so he can update the tracker. You'll receive your DKP bonus after you attend your first raid.
Now that we've all taken most of the past week to grind out some levels, it was finally time to smash some Kunark bosses and dragons last night! We had no choice but to drop Venril Sathir. Severilous? What a joke! Talendor? Didn't stand a chance. With all of the extra time we had, we even swung by the deep and whipped up on that poor water dragon Faydedar.
You're next Trakannon.
Congratulations to several of our members for completing their epics the first week of Kunark!
- Kimox - Shaman Epic
- Ashenwolf - Ranger Epic
- Resin - Cleric Epic
- Jaxanne - Cleric Epic
- Varg - Monk Epic
- Genozid - Magician Epic
There will be many more to come!
Greetings fellow Norrathians, Grogak here!
So after tonights officer meeting we have made some final decisions regarding the direction of the guild and our choice of subsystems for management overall, which I'm sure a lot of you have probably felt was long overdue. We apologize for the seeming indecision amongst the leaders but please take into consideration that a lot of what has transpired over the past two weeks was unforseen, and we beg for your understanding and greatly appreciate your patience. I myself am very new to this experience of being upper-management of what I'm sure we can all agree has turned into quite a successful venture in the world of Norrath. So successful in fact that we, the leaders of the fabled and illustrious Knights of Vallon Zek, were not at all prepared for what we as a whole have become - a force to be reckoned with!
We've all heard your concerns, and we hope that we can all continue to work together to push the envelope toward becoming a stronger, more cohesive raiding entity. With that said, there are a few details we'd like to share with you all.
- Starting Wednesday, the 16th of August, and the official launch into the lands of Kunark, we will be awarding everyone with 5 DKP for showing up to the raid as a gesture of goodwill and to start things rolling with the implementation of our DKP system. YOU MUST BE REGISTERED ON THIS SITE TO QUALIFY, SO PLEASE REGISTER PRIOR TO RAID! We will be hitting Venril Sathir, followed by Fear.
- We have not yet decided on what the cap for DKP will be, but there is most likely going to be one as the system unfolds and we learn more about the rate of incoming DKP across the board.
- First kills of Kunark raid encounters will award 5 DKP, while repeats will be awarding 3. Epic encounters - with the exception of golems at this time - will award 2 DKP. Classic Raids and Sky encounters post-Spiroc Lord will all award 1 DKP. Every wipe attempt on a Kunark raid encounter will award 1 DKP.
- In order to qualify to spend any accrued DKP, you must maintain a raid attendance of at least 70%. In order to maintain a raid slot for nights when we have more than 72 raiders present, you must have a concurrent raid attendance of at least 50%. Attendance figures will reset every month.
- If any player decides to Main Change then their DKP balance will reset to zero.
If you have any further questions or comments concerning the above bullet list, feel free to direct them to any of the officers either in-game, or in Discord.
Since there are pros and cons to using the two systems we had in mind, and we've effectively hit a stalemate, we've decided to run a straw poll to get everyone's feedback. Below will be the two options we've decided on, followed by a brief description of how they'll work, and a link to the poll so you may vote.
Fixed Cost - This system will place a fixed DKP cost to every item that we will see drop off all encounters. The officers will be in charge of deciding said costs, which puts extra work on the table that needs to be done, but we can work out the details as we go based on what encounters we plan to hit, and have those figures available for all to see so everyone can decide ahead of time what items they'll be saving/working toward.
60 Second Bid Rule - With this system the master looter will take tells from players interested in any given drop whereupon they will place a bid via tell where each item has a sixty-second window for which to bid. Once the sixty seconds is up, all bids are closed and the highest bidder wins. In the case of a tie - in any case whether it be Fixed Cost or 60 Second Bid Rule - players involved in the tie will roll. The winner of the roll will then get to bid their DKP and loot the item.
You may also vote "Other" and give your own feedback, or click the "Comments" link at the top of the article to post suggestions.
Please join us in shaping the future of the Knights of Vallon Zek! Vote now!
Voting time will end at 4:30 PM on Wednesday the 16th.
Thank you for coming guys, and we'll see you in there!
We will be awarding 10 DKP instead of 5 for attending Wednesdays raid.
We have decided to remove the 70% attendance restriction for spending your DKP. You must now maintain a 50% raid attendance to maintain membership status. If you go below a 50% attendance ratio then you will be demoted to "Friends and Family" and must restart the process over from recruit status.
We will also be awarding DKP to raiders that donate drop only Kunark spells and gear to the guild. We currently have a value of 1 DKP per spell donated to the guild bank, name is Nenar. Spells will be given out based on a first come, first serve basis to classes that are high enough level to scribe them. No further details regarding gear DKP values at this time.
You've reached the new web presence for the Knights of Vallon Zek. We are a casual EverQuest guild on the Agnarr progression server that focuses on playing with like-minded players in a family fashion. We currently raid three times a week on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:30PM eastern standard time.
If you are already a member of the Knights of Vallon Zek, you need to register so you can begin accumliating dragon kill points, which will be used for loot distribution starting with the release of Kunark. When registering, please use your main characters name as your username. After you've verified your account, you can add your character to the roster.
